 The Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the University of Virginia to visualize macro and micro- neuronal circuits underlying seizures and status epilepticus utilizing advanced microscopy techniques (two-photon and intravital imaging) combined with genetically engineered mice, labeled proteins and neurons. The successful candidate would work jointly in the Keck Center for Cellular Imaging with Dr. Ammasi Periasamy and in the laboratory of Dr. Jaideep Kapur. Education and training in developing novel techniques, preparing grants, and presentations at scientific meetings will be available through mentoring and active collaboration with other researchers.

Applicants should possess a PhD in a neuroscience or biomedical engineering or related discipline in hand by start date and a record of productivity. Previous experience in fluorescence microscopy imaging and neuroscience is desirable.
