The Intracellular Dynamics Laboratory (IDL) at the Ohio State University is looking for candidates to fill multiple postdoctoral researcher positions. Researchers at IDL use advanced microscopy, force spectroscopy and data analytics to study membrane trafficking pathways within cells in culture and tissues of developing organisms. The open positions are for:

      1. Elucidating the mechanical response of endocytic complexes in live cells using force spectroscopy (optical tweezers or atomic force microscopy) and fluorescence microscopy, simultaneously. Consecutive studies will aim towards monitoring spatiotemporal tension gradients in migrating cells and at various stages of the cell cycle.

      2. Quantitative analysis of exo- and endocytic activity, and cell adhesion complexes in microfluidics-based unidimensional cell migration systems. For the latter, the candidate is expected to operate (and work with the image sets obtained by) a structured illumination microscope (SIM) in total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) mode.

Candidates are expected to have broad experience in optical microscopy, image processing and computational analysis. To apply, please send a CV, 3 recommendation letters and a cover letter on scientific expertise to kural.1 at osu.edu.
