2-PHOTON IMAGING/BRAIN PLASTICITY

The position is part of the Top Research (Toppforsk) project “MOLECULAR CONTROL OF ARC PROTEIN: decoding a master regulator of synaptic plasticity and cognition”, funded by the Research Council of Norway. The project is led by Professor Clive Bramham of the Neuroscience Research Group.

The project team is multidisciplinary with expertise in molecular neuroscience, live-cell imaging, electrophysiology, protein structural biology, biophysics, and biochemistry.

Project
This project on the molecular control of synaptic plasticity focuses on imaging and functional analysis of protein-protein interactions. The primary method is two-photon FLIM/FRET imaging in hippocampal slices and live rodents.

For further information about the project and the position, please contact Professor Clive R. Bramham, phone: +47 55 58 60 32 or e-mail: [hidden email]

QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES
• The applicant must have a doctoral degree in cellular or molecular neuroscience, live-cell imaging technology, or a related discipline.
• The applicant must have experience with live-cell FRET imaging, preferably FLIM.
• The applicant must have a strong track-record of scientific publication.
• Experience with 2P glutamate uncaging and single spine imaging in brain slices is an advantage.
• Experience with 2P deep brain imaging and optogenetics in live rodents is an advantage.
• Experience in cloning and design of proteins for imaging is an advantage.
• Personal skills will be emphasized.
