A postdoctoral position is available at the Emory University School of Medicine to study enveloped virus entry into cells and its antagonism by host restriction factors. Our group applies quantitative microscopy techniques, such as single particle/molecule tracking, TIRF, FCS and super-resolution microscopy (dSTORM, PALM, STED), to delineate key steps of single virus entry. We are also implementing DNA force probe-based measurements to assess early virus-cell interactions and correlative light-cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) to gain structural insights into virus entry intermediates. Highly motivated individuals holding a Ph.D. degree in cell biology, biophysics, virology or related areas are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of fluorescence and/or electron microscopy techniques and image analysis software is preferred. Emory University provides excellent training and collaborative environment for research. For more information regarding ongoing projects in the laboratory, please visit: http://www.pedsresearch.org/research-group/melikian-lab and http://www.pediatrics.emory.edu/divisions/infectiousdisease/research/melikian/index.html. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Gregory Melikian (aka Melikyan) at [hidden email]<mailto:[hidden email]>.
