Postdoctoral Position in Advanced Imaging of Synapse Dynamics

Center for Neuroscience, UC Davis
The McAllister laboratory is soliciting applications for a fully-funded
postdoctoral position to study synapse dynamics. This fellow will use a
novel long-term imaging assay, optogenetics, and microfluidic devices to
image competition between neighboring synapses on identified neurons in
order to determine the learning rules that underlie the formation,
elimination, and stability of glutamatergic and GABAergic synapses.
Experience in microscopy, optogenetics, molecular biology, and neuronal cell
culture are preferred but not required. The recruit will join a collegial,
collaborative and vibrant Center for Neuroscience studying the development
and function/dysfunction of the CNS, with strengths in synaptic biology,
neural development, and neurodevelopmental disorders. The positions are
available immediately and are open until filled.
