Has anyone received a recent price quote on an Olympus FV1000 or a Zeiss 710?
I am trying to establish the ammount of over charge that I am being subjected to by the

Hello Alex,

Maybe you can let us know (either on the list or offline) what components you
are considering.
Pricing on confocal systems is very dependent on the many options included in
the total package.
Lasers, filter sets, (spectral / or not), objectives, etc.

Alex,
In my experience, obtaining a quote for a grant proposal will always be higher than a quote for immediate purchase, as any special promotions will not be included. I had two quotes within a few months of each other, and between just a couple of feature changes, and the promotional price not being guaranteed until the grant award, the prices were VERY different. I also echo the comment that one or two features can run a confocal quote up in a hurry.
