Problem with time-lapse acquisition in Axiovision 4.1

Search the CONFOCAL archive at http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal Dear List,

I am trying to take XYZT images (7 positions, 5 sections to keep things in focus against thermal drift and for 36 hours at an interval of 10 minutes) with Axiovision 4.1. Our software has a module called multidimension acquisition. After setting up everything when I start acquisition a small dialog box with title 'co-acquisition' appears. Somehow it exits after taking total of 49 images.

Earlier also I had similar problem with two position imaging for 24 hours at interval of 15 minute. At that time software exited after 12 hours of images (roughly 48 images per channel, at that time I had used 2x2 binning). To me it seems that after acquiring certain amount of data the software exits.

I monitored the memory and processor usage and also the files being written by software. The files are written as soon as image is acquired and the memory/CPU usages are nominal....

Did any one face similar problem..? Does Axiovision create/ can be made to create a log of activity?

Thanks for any pointers,

Regards
Shalin

      Hi Shalin,

Axiovision definitely creates a log of activity.  If you look under the View tab at the top and then look under the Windows selection there is an Event log.   This keeps track of all Axiovision activity.  The first thing I would suggest is to contact your local Zeiss rep to have your Axiovision upgraded.  We are currently on Axiovision 4.6 and there have been significant advances in the XYZ control and data storage between 4.1 and 4.6.

Sincerely,
