To all cytometrists,
This is a heads up on the 2011 Northwest Regional Cytometry
Meeting, March 24 – 26 at OHSU, “Cytometry Data: Mining, Modeling, and
Management”. The meeting will focus on what to do with a lot of collected multivariate data,
including discussions related to noise, inferring from small numbers, multi-site
comparisons, correlative visualization, and automated gating. Mark your
calendars, as the meeting is sure to be thought-provoking.
In addition to the NWRCM per se, the meeting is an umbrella
for a number of other events. The FICCS computational cytometry group will meet
on the 24th. FloCyte will be holding two courses, “Data Analysis” on
the 24th, and a new one on “Standardization, Validation,
Characterization, and Controls – A course for core and key flow cytometry
operators” on the 26th, both taught by Dr. Tim Bushnell. Also, on
the 26th the NWRCM is holding a free, half-day cytometry workshop
for middle and high school teachers, including lecture and hands-on activities.
More information will be coming out soon with the full NWRCM
program and roster, along with registration details. If you wish more
