Hi All,
thanks to all of you who have replied to me either through the group or directly.
A happy outcome to report. Leica actually caught my post and it seemed rather high to them as well, so they checked and got back to me. Turns out I had accidentally been quoted for the cost of equipping a new build with a 405 laser, rather than for a spare part laser and power supply (a different product number, which is how they caught it).
I've now received a much more affordable quote which has dropped the entire sum including VAT and labour from £29K-ish to 11.7K-ish.
Phew, thanks to all, including Leica, we can afford Christmas after all :-)
