What about putting he original .lsm .stk .oib .lif etc files there for readers to download?
... an a proper database would be better i think.
just as is done by PDB, genbank etc.
If you are interested in helping set this image database up,
please get involved in the EuroBioimaging project which had got the go ahead for the first admin stage by the EU.
http://www.eurobioimaging.eu/this is a good chance to get the database infrastructure we need.
Maybe it can be added onto existing infrastructure at EMBL Hinxton - EBI?
