Duties:

The person will work within the ISS microscopy group in developing applications for fluorescence microscopy and testing new software modules and accessories pertinent to the ISS microscopy fluorescence line, which includes the Fluorescence Correlation Spectrometer and the Confocal Lifetime Imaging Spectrometer.  He/she will work closely with the team members working in engineering and in software development, as well as with the marketing team.  The major tasks include:



1.    Work with the engineering team in the development and testing of new microscopy products.  Consult with users on experiment design, materials and methods, and instrument optimization.



2.    Develop applications for FFS and FLIM.  Assist in data acquisition and analysis.



3.    Establish functional testing procedures for the assuring adherence to the quality standards.



4.    Development of training courses in microscopy.  Participation in trade shows and/or conferences related to the specific field of application.  Participation to workshops in fluorescence microscopy





Qualifications:

1.  The candidate holds a BS/MS/Ph.D. degree in physics/chemistry/engineering and/or life sciences.

2.  The candidate has a strong knowledge of advanced light microscopy techniques including TIRF, confocal microscopy, and image processing software.

3.  Strong written and verbal communications, interpersonal and customer service skills.

4.  Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

5.  The ability to work independently under deadlines with minimal guidance, and to work as a team member.
