After looking at the Aberrior website  I have a general question for the collective:

All the configuration examples there were showing an upright microscope to attach the new device to a C-mount.

I assume that on inverted microscopes you would want to use the bottom port for best performance, to eliminate losses imposed by the side port optical elements.
How much signal and/or resolution does one "typically" lose on a side port compared to the bottom port? Is there any difference in this respect between the older scopes with 25mm field lenses and the newer scopes with larger internal optics (designed to accommodate large chip sCMOS cameras)?

Thanks!

Stan
