Hi, Sylvie,

As Ulrike and others mentioned, we at Thermo Fisher Scientific do have several options to choose from in our FluoSpheres line of products. Table 1 in the product manual for FluoSpheres has a listing of the different colors and sizes offered in that range:
http://tools.thermofisher.com/content/sfs/manuals/mp05000.pdf

We also offer our PS-Speck beads, intended for point spread function determination, as catalog P7220, each microsphere has a diameter of 0.175 ± 0.005 µm (note the very small CV, for better reliability in sizing compared to the FluoSpheres products).
https://assets.thermofisher.com/TFS-Assets/LSG/manuals/mp07220.pdf

If you need more help in choosing, though, please feel free to email me separately from this thread and I'll be happy to help further.

Cheers,

Jason

Dear Sylvie,

I would contact ThermoFisher and ask if they have FluoSpheres in green and red in size 40 nm or 100 nm in storage (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/references/molecular-probes-the-handbook/tables/summary-of-molecular-probes-fluospheres-fluorescent-microspheres.html).

Some of these beads are currently not listed on their website but believe it or not, you can still order them.

I have performed some of my Ph.D. experiments with Crimson 100 nm beads that do not exist, according to their website.

An entire custom-made batch costs approx. 12,000 Euro, but occasionally, labs order them custom-made, and ThermoFisher still might have some of these not listed beads in store.

Best of luck.

Best regards,

Ulrike

Hi, Sylvie,

We also offer our PS-Speck beads, intended for point spread function determination, as catalog P7220, each microsphere has a diameter of 0.175 ± 0.005 µm (note the very small CV, for better reliability in sizing compared to the FluoSpheres products).

Ulrike

Hi,

apart from the existing and widespread FluoSpheres, we just received and are going to test and compare the PSF of the yellow 50-90 nm beads from SpheroTech (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.spherotech.com/up_to_5.htm__;!!Eh6p8Q!RacJT6MFQZREzM0VgS723rZx8jF4mfPN6Td8xcV3iwmDKKUhhgFxghw1jWNye1cA4tU$  , number FP-00552-2).
We'll know more on their brightness the following days.

Best

Orestis
