Hi Niraj
I currently work for Olympus, which offers HCA equipment - Scan R, but in a previous life I managed the HCA business for a large American company in the Asian region. In regards to HCA I must agree with a some previous input provided by a non commercial respondent. The key to HCA is what you want to measure/ quantify, if it is relatively routine such as apoptosis, translocation, micronuclei, cell cycle etc then analysis can be quite easily done using canned modules. If the images and analysis that you want to perform are not routine however, well you could be in for some head aches. And this gets me to my point, all boxed HCA equipment are relatively easy to use and they all take OK images, the real differentiator is the software and support offered. The only other major thing you should consider is how high throughput are you going to be? 100's plates per week or only 10's, if the later then don't go and spend a fortune on a box solution, you can achieve the same results with an Olympus BX61, motorized stage, camera and free ware or less expense but still very good software HCA Vision, all for around 90k AUD. Now for some info on Scan R from Olympus. I consider this to be the microscopists HCA instrument, as it is not confined to a box and can easily be upgraded to perform very high speed ratio imaging or can arrive equipped to perform regular imaging, essentially future proofing your HCA research. It has a number of special features such as a real time controller and the ability to use a greater number of high NA objectives, if you would like to know more please get in touch.
I hope this helps

Hi Niraj,
A potential source of information could be members of the Australian
High Content Screening Group. We only formed a month or two ago and are still finalising
our website/wiki. But there are contact details for the members, and info on
what equipment/work they are doing.
The site can be found at http://ozhcs.wikidot.com/
Cheers
