Re: Image Explorer

Search the CONFOCAL archive at

We have updated our FocalPoint image explorer program and it should now
work with anything that can be read by the Bio-Formats reader (i.e. most
image file formats).  As before, the software is free to download here:

http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/projects/focalpoint/

The software hasn't been rigorously tested with all image formats, so there
may well be bugs lurking.  Please report back any problems you encounter or
suggestions on how to improve the program.

Many thanks to Simon Andrews for writing the program and Curtis Rueden for
helping implement the Bio-Formats reader.

Is that the 0.3 version from 21-04-08 ? Because it is the latest
version available for download at the link you provide.

The latest version is 0.4 uploaded 06-05-08 (today).  Is it possible
you're seeing a cached version of the page?

Re: Image Explorer

I'm playing with it and it is really nice. Two suggestion:

- make a "contact sheet" view where you can see the content of a
folder as a grid rather than one image/line, to be able to browse more
rapidly.
- for stacks, it is good not to load the whole movie by default, but
it would be nice to have the first slice/image of the stack as a
thumbail in addition to the "click to load" messages (that could be
replaced by a small "stack" icon in the corner of the thumbnail).
