Dear Gabor,

to continue on the virus imaging side:
I myself worked on HIV maturation during my PhD and used STED to unravel the kinetics of HIV maturation http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acsnano.6b03850

Since viruses are so small, super-resolution microscopy is an excellent method to study their structure and kinetics. For a detailed review on HIV research in super-resolution so far, please see here http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/1873-3468.12186/full

Let me know if you have any further questions about HIV in super-resolution.
Cheers, Janina
