Re: Z-Drift-LSM510

Dear Abhi,

Have you maybe finally found the solution for your Z-drive drift?
We have experiencing the same with LSM 5 LIVE for over one year now, we
have tried diffrent things (Z-stage and Z-drive exchange, incubator and so
on) and we still were not able to fix Z-one-direction drive :(

Thanks in advance for any reply

Re: Z-Drift-LSM510

Hi,

There may be many causes for drift. If you observe a constant drift in one direction though, I would exclude temperature issues. We had a similar problem, which we corrected temporarily by removing unused objectives from the turret. It turns out the Axiovert keeps its focus position by applying a certain  voltage to the focus drive mechanism. Eventually, the Zeiss technician recommended increasing the baseline voltage value, and that solved the problem. That utility is hidden somewhere in the administrative tools, so you may need assistance from Zeiss. I suggest you call their tech support.
