In our core facility we have had a number of people who amass a lot of Olympus .oib (Fluoview 1000) and .tif (Fluoview 300/500) images and would like to batch process an entire directory of images. Generally, they would like to 1) z-project each channel using the maximum projection and then 2) save the projections from each channel to a single-plane, projected .tif file (e.g., if 3 channels of z-planes were collected then 3 .tif files would result for each channel) automatically to an entire directory.
Our computer expert (Gregg Amundson) wrote a plug-in for Image J available on our web page in the Download section (
http://www.bipl.umn.edu) to solve this problem. Feel free to download. If something other than a max projection is desired, it's fairly easy to change that line in the code.
This hasn't been tested yet on Vista.
