Re keeping a BioRad1024 alive, replacement fiber optic

Hi,

It appears to be the case the fiber optic cable in our BioRad 1024 has low
transmission (30% rather than more than 60%). I'd like to find a
replacement. Zeiss evidently doesn't stock parts anymore. Does anyone have
any ideas for replacing the cable, a part number or pointer to where one
might find a replacement. Thanks.
