Registration is open for the 19th Annual Workshop on FLIM and FRET Microscopy, March 9-13, 2020. http://www.kcci.virginia.edu/workshop The Histochemical society is supporting TWO fellowships (each $1000) to attend the workshop which you can use it towards the workshop tuition fees. Please visit the web site for the 2019 award by clicking this link- http://histochemicalsociety.org/Awards/Awards.aspx . Please visit the link to see the 2017 & 2018 awardees- http://histochemicalsociety.org/Membership/Awards/Awardee-History/FRET-Workshop-Travel-Awardees.aspx Also, limited amount of financial assistance is available. Hands-on instruction and training on wide-field, confocal, Spectral, and lifetime (FLIM) FRET imaging Microscopy systems. Discussion on best FLIM and FRET imaging and data analysis solutions. Personal attention for a maximum of 25 participants. Internationally recognized faculty. Individual problem solving. * For attendees to experience an advanced practical course on Förster (fluorescence) resonance energy transfer FRET) and fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) microscopy to image the protein-protein interactions. * Brief introductions to the principles of fluorescence, microscopy, fluorophores, FRET and FLIM will be made. Emphasis will be on practical aspects, hands-on individual instruction at the instruments followed by data analysis and interpretation. * Problem-solving discussions will address questions of fluorophore choices, the most suitable systems to achieve specific research objectives, qualitative vs. quantitative analysis and much more. Introduction for an unique image processing and analysis software (PFRET) will be given for training. * Live-cell specimens provided; participant's own specimens are welcome. Please contact me off the list if you have any questions or clarifications. Best, Ammasi Happy Holidays !
