Dear List,

We've got an old Zeiss 510 that finally retired and I would like to repurpose the laser launch for a custom scope that I am building. Has anyone done this before and knows how to communicate with the AOTF etc?

Thanks!

Dear Jens,

I haven't done exactly what you are trying to do, but to my knowledge the AOTF used in the LSM510 laser launch comes from AA (http://www.aaoptoelectronic.com/4.aspx). If you have the proper remote control unit for the AOBS - it is quite easy to reprogram/retune it. If you store those settings, then switching the individual laser lines can be done easily with TTL signals. Another possibility is to use MicroManager it has a drive for AA components (https://micro-manager.org/wiki/AAAOTF).

Good luck with your project! Gabor
