JOB SUMMARY:    
The Research Microscopy Specialist (RMS) is a key member of the company’s sales
team. The purpose of this position is to promote sales of the companies’ Widefield  
& Advanced Fluorescence product line in his/her assigned region.  His/her primary
function is to execute domestic sales plans and to recommend strategies to
improve the sale of Widefield  & Advanced Fluorescence products in the territory,
aid in the implementation of these strategies in line with Marketing, Corporate
growth, profitability, and mission objectives.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Achieve monthly, quarterly, annual and strategic product mix sales goals for the
territory
Identify and develop key accounts in the territory
Install/set-up instruments in customer laboratories and train customers.
Perform demonstrations.  Maintain demo equipment.
Standard administrative duties:  monthly reports, manage operating expenses, all
information in CRM must be kept current on a daily basis
Participate in sales meetings and national and local trade shows as authorized by
manager
Conduct workshops, seminars or focus groups at local technical society meetings,
as authorized by manager
Each sales rep is responsible for demonstration inventory, including requesting
equipment via a Central Demo
Management System (DMS), set-up, conduct demonstration, tear-down/packing
and arranging shipping
Each sales rep completes all instrument installations in their assigned territory
(time away from selling opportunities)
Each sales rep (RMS) completes all customer instrument training in their assigned
territory with the exception of those tools demonstrated by the (RAS)-LMD,
SD6000, LSI, SPE, and TIRF systems.
Each sales rep needs to be able to comprehend and communicate to customers the
applications aspects of our equipment.
All sales activities are entered and tracked through CRM (internally developed
system, Lotus Notes based application)
Qualifications
 
EDUCATION:
BA/BS required preferably in a Life Science
 
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years successful selling experience
Microscopy/Imaging sales experience is highly preferred.

Strong team skills
Strong communications skills
Proficient in computer skills - Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
Strong technical, electrochemical, optical and mechanical aptitude
Highly organized
Multi-tasker, efficient with managing multiple accounts within a large region
Strong passion for sales and marketing creativity
