Best, Ammasi The Department of Biology at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Research Scientist position. The incumbent will be researching in Cellular S-nitrosothiol signaling in the respiratory system. The Research Scientist will focus on investigating protein-protein interactions, development of cellular FRET assays using visible fluorescent proteins (VFPs), antibody based organic FRET pairs, colocalization of proteins and calcium signaling in endothelial and epithelial cells. A PhD in Biomedical sciences is required. The incumbent will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the preparation of FRET assays, and cellular/molecular imaging experimental protocol using many experimental approaches including confocal, multiphoton, and lifetime FRET microscopy systems. The incumbent is expected to have some experience in researching eNOS-GSNOR interaction in live or fixed cells. The incumbent should have an interest/ability in interacting with a multidisciplinary investigators involved in the Keck Center for Cellular Imaging.
