The Lillemeier laboratory is part of the NOMIS Center for Immunobiology and the WAITT Advanced Biophotonics Center. Research in the laboratory focuses on how T cell activities and functions are initiated and controlled during adaptive immune responses. Using cutting edge super-resolution and single molecule imaging technologies, the lab studies the organization of proteins in space and time to uncover how T cell signaling pathways are assembled and dissociated. Our goal is to modulate molecular mechanisms of T cell signaling to alter immune responses and find alternatives to current immunotherapies.
Postdoctoral positions are available to study the molecular dynamics and distributions of T cell signaling molecules, specifically in the T cell receptor (TCR) and PD-1 checkpoint pathways. The goal of these studies is to discover novel spatio-temporal mechanisms that are potential drug targets for future immunotherapies. The position requires application and/or development of cutting edge single molecule fluorescence microscopy techniques (based on single molecule super-resolution and tracking). We encourage applications from life scientists, engineers, physicists etc. that are interested in cutting edge imaging and/or T cell Biology.
