Spectral Detector in Zeiss 700

Dear All,

Sometime ago there has been some discussions on Zeiss 700 confocal. I am
curious to know more about the special secondary dichroic  in Zeiss 700 and
its spectral imaging features/capability. I read that this confocal is capable of
1 nm spectral resolution. If I am correct, the 700 has only two fluorescence
detectors. Is it required to scan several times to acquire image, say over
100nm? Would it not then cause bleaching in sample?
The principle of the special dichroic is also not clear to me. I will appreciate if
the experts out there can clarify this.

Dear Ana,

LSM700 is not spectral type confocal.
The meaning of '1nm' is beam-splitter function.
LSM700 has variable beam-splitter.
User can define the wave-length of beam-split between ch1 and ch2 with 1nm increment.
Main fluorence detection ragne is maden by traditional filter (see below)
