Spinning discs

Dear List

We are thinking about purchasing a spinning disc system, but we would want to use it on zebrafish samples. Does anybody have experience with using dicsc on this kind of sample (as they re not the preferred choice , obviously, for “fishing out” GFP from the depth of the probe)

Quorum claims to be >= 30% more sensitive than UltraVoX, which is claimed to be more sensitive than standard Yokogawas.

I could imagine a well fitted Quorum or Andor could do the job. But I m not sure.  One could fit out existing DSUs with laser or use Zeiss (Yokogawa based )discs to exploit the user friendly Axiovision

My slight preference   would be to go for a Hamamatsu or Andor CCDs  fitted to any system known to be sensitive (and well synchronized)

I ve followed the discussion about deconvolution systems vs spinning discs and maybe one could shelf the spinning disc idea altogether, or use a fast MP.

Thanks

Axel
