I just acquired a PALM Microbeam system build on a AxioVert 200 in mint condition. The system has a motorised stage which doesn’t look familiar to me (or anyone I’ve asked) but has optical encoders from Renishaw. The stage itself has no other markings than p-mt-02-086 stamped at the metal under the plate. Does anyone happen to know who is the manufacturer of this stage or the stages for these systems? Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, >m |

Many XY stage manufacturers use (or used to use) Renishaw encoders, including ASI Imaging, Prior, Dover Motion, and even Thorlabs... Märzhauser has declined to have anything to do with this stage. I uploaded some images for you, perhaps they help a bit further: https://imgur.com/gallery/GPKrKLY I'm curious about the outcome of this trivia :) Cheers, Mika |

This is why you are getting no love from the stage companies. The newer version on their current microbeam systems might well also be custom made. i assume you are trying to control it in some other software? ________________________________ From: Confocal Microscopy List <[hidden email]> on behalf of Mika Ruonala <[hidden email]> Sent: Monday, September 28, 2020 9:24 PM To: [hidden email] <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: Stage ID ***** To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy Post images on http://www.imgur.com and include the link in your posting. ***** Dear Jacqui and Steve, thanks for your attempts to idenfity the stage. It is indeed a RoboStage I from PALM Microlaser. Unfortunately, thus far I could not find the RoboSoftware needed to try it out on a XP machine (if someone has a source please let me know!). I also could not set it up in MetaMorph using the MTB so I'm currently adapting it to be operated with OASIS Blue card with EXBIO encoder add-on. Thanks for the support! Mika |

GmbH is the German equivalent of LTD. And indeed, https://www.ec-motion.de/ exists. Looking at their web site my guess is, they produced only the stepper motor and maybe the driver? But that is what you would need to control, no? They still seem to have that motor on sale: https://www.ec-motion.de/en/product-overview/2-phase-step-motors/42-mm/?no_cache=1&product=43 Good luck Steffen Am 28.09.2020 um 13:24 schrieb Mika Ruonala: > ***** > To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: > http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy > Post images on http://www.imgur.com and include the link in your posting. > ***** > > Dear Jacqui and Steve, > thanks for your attempts to idenfity the stage.
