To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** As you are well aware, this is truly an exciting time in the field of microscopy. The advent of several techniques providing resolutions below the diffraction limit will restructure the future of microscopy along with other new tools like: Structured illumination Improved TIRF optics High speed cameras Improved collection Analysis software Systems capable of switching between multiple applications High-content screening to sub diffraction imaging, with nanosecond accuracy The totality of these changes should allow the research community at large to make a quantum leap forward in application and subsequent data analysis, ultimately providing important insights and answers. At TILL we have formed the following 3 objectives: Making the scientific community aware of the iMIC microscope and its unique modularity and design, Solving application-driven problems using the TILL iMIC to collect and report data, and Creating a series of application-driven packages that start with a basic affordable platform that could easily be expanded to any additional application driven TILL hardware. This will provide the researcher with the ability, to broaden their applications and techniques. Whereas other systems lock you in, TILL will allow your system to grow as your lab does! With that I am extremely pleased to announce the following packages now being offered by TILL Photonics using the iMIC base microscope as foundation: The Multi-color Fluorescence iMIC System – $87,725.00 – This basic iMIC system will be a bench top workhorse for your lab, and your intro to the iMIC. The OX provides a high-resolution capable affordable entrance to advanced applications. It is the building block to your scientific growth. This system is upgradable to all other systems outlined below. The Structured Illumination iMIC System– $149,988.00 – The SI system, an upgrade to the basic iMIC system, will provide confocal resolution while eliminating the need for lasers, thus reducing the cost of optical sectioning and 3D imaging for your laboratory. The Andromeda iMIC System – $199,988.00 – TILL Photonics is pleased to announce that it will now offer a confocal solution. The Andromeda Spinning Disc, iMIC-based system, or the addition of the Andromeda to any of the afore described systems will provide a beautifully, highly resolved spinning disc image at a cost of nearly $100K less than its nearest competitor! The TIRF iMIC System – $149,988.00 – TILL Photonics has long been a leader in quality for TIRF optics and iMIC-based TIRF systems. We will continue this tradition by offering the basic TIRF and general fluorescence system with a new and affordable pricing structure. It can be upgraded with a laser combiner for multi-line applications as well as with all other iMIC modules. The High-Speed iMIC System – $128,375.00 – This is the ultimate high speed acquisition machine that delivers up to 90 dual-color image pairs @ 125x512 pixels. Using the fast scanning monochromator Polychrome V, high speed camera and microsecond real-time control TILL Photonics accomplishes in two colors where others fail with monochromatic imaging. The iMIC SMW Tool Kit – starting at $199,988.00 depending on system configurations – Very exciting for TILL and the iMIC is the Small Molecule Workstation Tool Kit. This system allows users who have needs beyond the standard to individually build their own single molecule microscope based on the iMIC. In other words, Super-Resolution at a cost that is 6 times lower than its nearest competitor! Additionally, the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Ross, Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst is currently building an iMIC based system and is chronicling the build at http://www.people.umass.edu/superres/SuperRes/SuperRes_at_UMass.html Finally, as always, there is the option to upgrade the packages introduced above to create your own unique affordable, application scientific application solutions. These are very exciting times not only in microscopy but for TILL as well. It is our hope that by offering the only microscope platform that can be upgraded to any of our technologies will provide today’s budget-conscious scientist with the ability to do the highest quality work, with the cutting edge products at a price that is well within all of our budgetary guidelines. We look forward to our future collaboration with you. Sincerely, Mark A. Tolbert Main: (866) 547-8455 President & CEO Fax: (866) 863-5581 TILL Photonics USA Find us on Facebook! |

But I hate to read commercial announcements which are nothing but marketing. IMHO this is not what the list was made for. Just me 2p.
