Dear Listers,

We have two shutters and each is controlled by TTL pulses via a BNC
cable.   We want to buy a PC board that will allow us control the two
shutters through our metamorph software.  I would very much appreicate if
anybody can recommend one.  Thanks a lot in advance.

I recommend NI's USB-6501; it's got 24 lines of digital I/O and is powered
via USB.  A related model, the 6008, has fewer digital I/O channels but has
a bunch of analog in and a couple analog out if you are also looking for
something more multipurpose.  I use it to run some flip mirrors and do some
external triggering on a couple of my rigs.

Another solution would be to use the PCs own parallel port -you control it by writing to it, look to the web for programming examples. It's fast and free. Might seem a bit old school but it is a simple solution….
