Technical / Scientific Staff at the Imaging Core Facility (IMCF) of the Biozentrum / University of Basel

To strengthen our team at the newly founded light microscopy facility, we are looking for a staff member to support us in maintaining different state of the art light and confocal microscopes, in user training at microscopes and image analysis, as well as in participating in the teaching program of the IMCF.
The position is initially for two years but can be prolonged. Envisioned starting date is July/August 2011.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who combines technical expertise with strong communication skills and with a technical or research background.
The suitable candidate is expected to have practical experience in one or more of the following fields: Optics, light microscopy techniques (widefield and/or confocal), live cell imaging, image processing. Strong computer and software skills and good English knowledge are a must.
He/she should be willing to expand his/her knowledge in new microscopy techniques and be ready to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
