Just returned from the annual ABRF (Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities) meeting in St. Louis.
The Light Microscopy Group led by Claire Brown (McGill University) and Rich Cole (Wadsworth Center) put together an excellent program that included excellent talks and lively panel discussion on science and instrumentation developments pertinent to today's imaging shared resources. Kudos!
Of note was that the 2015 ABRF Award for Outstanding Contribution to Biomolecular Technologies went to Drs. John G. White and William Bradshaw Amos for their contributions to the development of confocal microscopy.
I'm sure that next year's ABRF meeting in Ft. Lauderdale in February 2016 will have an equally strong Light Microscopy emphasis and an expanded presence of Electron Microscopy as well.
Anyone associated with shared resources should plan to attend.
