To the listowner: Duplicate posting

Sorry to send this to the whole list, but after the recent changes
I don't who is now managing the list, and I can't find a way of
emailing 'listowner' through the system.

Every message posted still produces a response about duplicate
posting being rejected.  This is presumably because the name of
the list (or of the old list, which I guess is forwarded) has
accidentally been included in the list of subscribers.  The list
is therefore trying to mail itself.  Fortunately it fails, or it
would end up in an infinite loop (I've seen it happen) sending
out one message over and over.

Could you please check the list and remove the entry?

Re: To the listowner: Duplicate posting

Hello All,

The administrator at lists.umn.edu figured out that the "duplicate
posting being rejected" is a result of the presence of the *old*
[hidden email] address still in your address book.
Please go to Address in your email client menu and delete
[hidden email] from the addresses.

I am planning to include a template with each mailing describing how to
subscribe, how to leave the list, how to access the archives, and how to
eliminate the "duplicate posting being rejected" message.  Hopefully,
this text will soon appear at the bottom of all emails sent on this
listserv (if that can be done: I'm currently exploring it).

Sorry it took so long to get everyone an answer...

Jerry Sedgewick
the manager of the list.
