Travel awards available to help defray the cost of travel to ABRF 13

ABRF 2013: "Tools for the Advancement of Convergence Science"

Palm Springs, California, March 2nd-5th, 2013

 

The meeting will feature 3 fun-packed days of scientific symposia and
practical roundtable discussions on key aspects of light microscopy research
and developments.

 

The ABRF has a number of awards available to help defray the cost of travel

Outstanding Scientist/Technologist Travel Awards are available to ABRF
members who have made outstanding contributions in their institutional core
facilities, have developed new biotechnologies with applications in core
facilities, and/or have been active in the ABRF. The deadline for
applications is December 15, 2012.

Awards, sponsored by Waters Corporation, provides cash to defray the cost of
travel for the best posters presented at ABRF 2013 in addition to providing
an opportunity for the authors to give an oral presentation of their work.

(Minority Access to Research Careers) Travel Awards Program, offers minority
scientists, students and technicians travel awards for participation in the
ABRF 2013 Annual Meeting. These awards are administered directly by FASEB
MARC. The application will be live on December 1, 2012 and the application

provides ABRF member core and resource facilities the opportunity to

Speakers will include world class researchers such as Jennifer
Lippincott-Schwartz (NIH), Jonas Ries (ETH Zurich) and Robert Campbell
(University of Alberta).   Scientific sessions and roundtable discussions
will feature prominent core facility directors and managers in addition to
technical experts from leading microscopy, reagent and software companies.
We are hoping for healthy and heated discussions between manufacturers,
users and the audience - please come armed with questions!  There will also
be opportunities to analyze your own data and get expert advice.

 

Each day of the meeting will have its own scientific theme:

Sunday: Super-Resolution Microscopy;

Monday: Fluorescent Probes: choice and new developments;

Tuesday: Fundamentals of Image Processing & Analysis/Tricks of the Trade.
