REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a physical science or engineering
Two (2) years experience with confocal microscopes and related systems
Two (2) years experience with IBM compatible personal computers and software
including operating system, Windows, word processors, spreadsheets and databases
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree
JOB DUTIES:
Supervises the confocal microscopy laboratory that is a part of the CIF
(Stern Hall).
Performs microscopy analysis, sample preparation and data reduction using
sophisticated software packages and computer hardware.
Trains lab users in the proper preparation of samples and use of the lab
instruments, including thorough training on use of data acquisition software
and instrument hardware.
Monitors instrument’s performance. Performs routine maintenance. Assists
with repairs.
Collaborates with faculty and other scientist. Interacts with other scientist
to share scientific information.
Attends departmental meetings and other operational meetings when scheduled.
Performs other duties as assigned by CIF Management.
