Hello U of M Confocal Microscopy Colleagues!

The Lillehei Heart Institute is currently accepting applications for the
position of Lab Manager (Scientist) of the Histology & Microscopy Core
Facility at the University of Minnesota.  We are seeking applicants with
expertise in histology and microscopy research techniques for basic sciences
research.  

The Lillehei Heart Institute is a diverse group of investigators at the U of
MN all focused on various aspects of cardiovascular and muscle
biology/physiology research.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to
provide expert guidance to a wide variety of investigators and laboratory
staff to produce consistent high-quality services and data.  Additionally,
demonstrated ability in managing a research laboratory and strong
service-oriented interpersonal skills are essential characteristics of a
successful candidate.

This position involves supervision and provision of routine histology and
microscopy services and support, development of new protocols and
methodology, research and acquisition of new technology, administration of
core staff and facilities, and management of financial aspects of an
internal sales organization.  We would like to fill this position as soon as
