Multiphoton Imaging Technical Director

The University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative scientist to direct and enhance current multiphoton imaging capabilities within the Multiphoton Imaging Core of the University’s Shared Resource Laboratories (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/multiphoton/). Outstanding candidates at all levels will be considered.

 

Strong research programs in Immunology, Stem Cell Biology, Infectious Disease, Oral Biology, Musculoskeletal Biology, and Pharmacology and Physiology currently utilize the Multiphoton Core. The institution is looking for an energetic and engaged Technical Director to grow these collaborations, establish new users groups, and to maintain and enhance cutting-edge imaging and optogenetic capabilities within the University.  Experience in advancing multiphoton capabilities, intravital microscopy and image processing analyses are highly desirable.

 

As Technical Director of the facility, the successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Multiphoton Imaging Core to support the research needs of the UR investigators.  This includes:

 

·       Design and optimization of experiments in partnership with individual users

·       Implementation of training to investigators on the instrument

·       Development of new and novel assays

·       Partnering with the Vivarium to optimize of surgical techniques

·       Grant writing to acquire new and complementary technology

·       Collaborative opportunities for grant writing and publications with individual users

·       Attendance and presention at regional and national meetings

·       Establishing collaborations with other regional facilities

 

 

The successful candidate will receive a research appointment and salary commensurate with experience.
