Overview: The successful candidate has expertise performing technical problem solving on scientific instrument hardware, software, as well as cell-based applications. The candidate must be a quick learner and exhibit a passion for customer support on the array of Molecular Devices portfolio of imaging products, including the ImageXpress product line. The role is responsible for daily interactions with our external customers and internal partners, primarily by phone, e-mail, and Web chat. This role will be responsible for diagnosing customer issues, updating and maintaining the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database with a summary of the incident and actions taken. The expectation is that the Technical Support Application Scientist is fully integrated into a dynamic environment supporting existing and newly released products, and will work with a cross-functional team including Product Support Engineers, Field Applications Scientists, Field Service Engineers, Sales Representatives, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations. Responsibilities: * Provide daily scientific, technical, and applications support on an array of Molecular Devices imaging products. * Participate in trainings on both new and existing supported products * Perform technical problem solving on hardware, software, and cell-based assays, working with available company resources and escalating issues as needed. * Communicate with customers using phone, e-mail, and Web chat * Update and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database (SalesForce/ServiceMax) with relevant case information * Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles and Technical Notes * Perform revenue generating activities including sales lead generation * Participate in continuous improvement activities using Danaher Business System tools Qualifications * MS/Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering or related field with 4+ years of laboratory experience * Have thorough knowledge of cell-based assay techniques * Experience in analyzing complex data and troubleshooting hardware and software issues * Hands-on experience with Molecular Devices' imaging products (e.g. ImageXpress, MetaXpress and/or MetaMorph) highly desirable * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Results driven, has track record for delivering results, and takes ownership of actions * Embraces and thrives on challenge * Proficient at promoting products and services * Customer Service oriented, with a high sense of urgency * Familiarity with modern methods of drug discovery, computer networking, and informatics is a plus. * Passion for continuous improvement Danaher Corporation Overview Danaher is a global science & technology innovator committed to helping our customers solve complex challenges and improve quality of life worldwide.
