Hi all,

I recently got our SP8 STED system and it came with a Newport isolation
table.
Our faculty is planning to move the microscopy unit to the fifth floor in a
newish building (about 7 years old).

Concerns have been raised regarding the vibration situation.
We have a quote from an engineering firm to check out the floor, but as
always, budget issues require a very firm reason.
(Yes, we spent a lot on the machine itself so what is another few thousand
dollars, you might ask. A lot, as it turns out.)

Has anyone experienced using an isolation table that was sufficient for
confocal yet NOT good enough for STED?

Leica specs: (I have no idea if this is a lot or a little):
Frequency range [5 Hz – 30 Hz] less than 12,5 μm/s root mean square
Frequency range [> 30 Hz] less than 12,5 μm/s root mean square.

Would love to hear from people with a STED system how crazy (or not) they
were regarding this issue.

Thanks,
Avi
