A colleague  of mine told me that he is unable to see YFP/Venus with his
LED source (Lumencore, 470nm LED). This surprises me, even if 470nm is not
at the excitation peak of YFP.
Are there list-members who  use LED excitation sources with YFP? If so, I
would appreciate if they would share their experience with me.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a technical issue. 470nm should work well for YFP. It's either
a filter problem or the fluorophore was a dud.
