ZEN-- new file formats?

Search the CONFOCAL archive at http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocal Hi All-

A quick question, about the new ZEN software from Zeiss.  As you will remember from previous emails, the OME Consortium is dedicated to supporting as many proprietary file formats as possible through Bio-Formats (http://www.loci.wisc.edu/ome/formats.html), the open library for file format translation.  Regarding ZEN, a question:

ZEN supports a number of file formats, but does it write any new file formats?  We haven't seen any in the free ZEN LE, but is there a full version of ZEN, and does it have a new file format?  We're asking because we've been asked to support the "new ZEN format", but can't figure out what that is.

Thanks much for any advice.

Cheers,

Jason, and the whole OME Team

Jason,

according to Zeiss, the ZEN-*.lsm is similar to v4-*.lsm. The ending is
the same, and I was told that the structure is the same as well. There
are no *.mdbs anymore, but the images themselves should not cause troubles.
