Search the CONFOCAL archive at
http://listserv.acsu.buffalo.edu/cgi-bin/wa?S1=confocalI think that, when it comes to managing and maintaining a multiuser
facility, the key things are simplicity and dependability. My central
philosophy is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." If your system
delivers the capability and performance that you and your users need,
why change anything? Save your money for when you really need it. Just
my opinion. YMMV.
