adaptor for threading regular objectives onto Nikon mount

Does anyone know where to find an adaptor to try and mount an 18 mm thread objective onto a 25mm threaded (Nikon cf160 style) turret mount?  I realize that optical performance will be subpar, but we are trying to use existing objectives in the absence of any money to buy new ones.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Don

Hi Don,
Assuming you have one on campus, most any University machine shop should be able to fabricate one pretty quickly.  If not, there may be a local fabricator that has the skills and equipment.

What is 18mm thread anyway?  Isn't RMS 20mm?

I've also never seen an 18mm thread, but assuming you need RMS as the
internal thread, this might help:
http://www.thorlabs.com/thorProduct.cfm?partNumber=RMSA1

Best regards,
Matt

A few years back I bought a set of these from Nikon.  Contact your rep.
