Hello,
I am looking for the 'convallaria - Lilly of the Valley' root sample that is widely distributed with Zeiss microscopes (I think!). Any idea of where I could buy it from? Alternatively, can somebody suggest any commercially available fluorescent sample (apart from Invitrogen)? Thank u Amy |

To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Try Carolina for your Lily of the Valley sample. They've got a very comprehensive stock, and the prices are decent. Also, wood samples such as tilia. To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** Amy, If you need a slide which as been stained, which can be used for fluorescent work/training, try Triarch. http://www.triarchmicroslides.com/ Most of the standard stains have plenty of fluorescence to work with, I prefer Triarch as they have the largest selection of plant samples. To join, leave or search the confocal microscopy listserv, go to: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=confocalmicroscopy ***** To add to Barbara's Comment. H&E sections of intestine are particularly rewarding, since the goblet cells fluoresce quite dramatically, especially at 540-ish excitation. As an aside, I wouldn't call the fluorescence "autofluorescence". Eosin is actually a fluorescent compound.
