heat vs molecular breakdown

Hi Guy,

I really appreciate your post. I also to think it is not heat due to the
"need" for a threshold for this to happen. However, this is not caused
from molecular ionization like ablation but to high electro-magnetic
field which will probably generate other types of interaction, what you
call molecular break down. In college (physics) I learned this
interaction was called photo-punching but I never heard 2P experts talk
about this, continuing to call it ablation, which I think it is not the
case.

Does anyone have any kind of reference for this?

Best wishes,
NM
