The Biological Imaging Development Center at UCSF is looking for an imaging specialist.
Primary focus will be on image acquisition, automation, and analysis software development,
as well as maintenance, repair, and user training/assistance on microscope systems.
Applicants should have:
-A Bachelor's degree in biological or computer sciences, engineering or a related field
-At least 6 months' experience in programming (ie: MATLAB, Java, C++)
-Ability and willingness to learn to use and teach others to use complex scientific equipment
is required.
--Software development experience with an emphasis on system automation and image
analysis is preferred.
--Experience in fluorescence microscopy, sample preparation, as well as training in optics
and biology are beneficial but training will be provided.
