Hi everybody,

A researcher in our institute would like to have an infrared camera mounted on a dissecting scope to screen worms (C. elegans) according to temperature.
Any recommendation regarding the camera?

Many thanks in advance,

Best,

Laurent.

Some/most IR cameras use non-glass materials for lenses.  Depending on the wavelengths they are most sensitive to, this may be Germanium (http://www.flir.com/uploadedFiles/Thermography/MMC/Brochures/T559243/T559243_EN.pdf).  I am not an expert, but it seems to me that there could be a problem with the IR wavelengths of interest being transmitted by the dissecting scope's glass lenses.

My $0.02.
