Dear All

At the Gurdon Institute in Cambridge we are recruiting someone to work
on Biological Image Analysis with Professor Daniel St Johnston and Dr
George Sirinakis on the development of algorithms for the analysis of
super-resolution data in the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge.
The project is a collaboration between groups in Cambridge (St Johnston,
Sean Munro), Yale (Joerg Bewersdorf, Jim Rothman, Derek Toomre) and
Oxford (Martin Booth) to develop new adaptive optical STED and PALM
super-resolution systems for live cell imaging and is funded by a
Wellcome Trust Strategic Award. Applicants should have a PhD or
equivalent and a background in biophysics, physics, or engineering with
strong expertise in programming and biological image analysis algorithm
development. Experience in biomedical microscopy or adaptive optics
would be an advantage but is not essential.
The successful applicant will be expected to work in close collaboration
with biologists on state-of-the-art super-resolution instrumentation at
the Gurdon Institute. Besides the use and integration of existing image
analysis methods, the successful applicant will also be involved in the
development of novel algorithms for the analysis of super-resolution
dataset
