I have posted a message here recently (a microscopy position advertisement), and it clearly reached some people on the list server, as we have received inquiries about it. However, I do not see this message in my own folder, and a few of my colleagues also did not receive this message, even though they are part of this server. Does anybody have any idea on what the reason for this may be? Does anybody have any idea on what the reason for this may be? The few times in the past when I've heard about problems with messages not being received, the reason has been the user's mail server blocking mail from the listserv. In this case, though, my guess is that because your posting was a solicitation, it got caught by spam-traps on some (but not all) users' e-mail accounts. However, this is a guess. If you see this behavior again--for instance, if the same users didn't receive the posting to which I'm replying--then there's something more subtle going on. Please contact me directly if that's the case. Occasionally emails start getting through and then everything stops again. On Martin's suggestion I set up a Google account specifically for confocal mail, and it works. Also, it does not come to my default yahoo e-mail box, though I see lots of listserv messages in the yahoo Spam folder, but not the one posted by Yevgeniy Romin.
