There is an immediate opening for a microscopic imaging core manager at Tufts University in Medford MA. The imaging core facility manager will be responsible for all aspects of laboratory operations at the Tufts Advanced Microscopic Imaging Center (TAMIC).  This includes maintenance, calibration, and installation of microscopes and accessories, review and oversight of imaging tasks, laboratory maintenance, user oversight and training in advanced microscopic imaging, including confocal, two-photon and CARS microscopic imaging, and administrative duties related to user training and maintenance of the lab budget. The manager will also have oversight of collaborative projects and may be actively involved in imaging of specimens. He/she will be in charge of performing imaging for users that require assistance (i.e. ones that are not trained to use the microscopes independently). The laboratory manager will also be responsible for strategic planning for laboratory growth, including identification of possible user groups inside and outside the university, strategic planning to provide improved services, attract and support new users, and working with university faculty and staff to secure outside funding for laboratory upgrades. A PhD in Engineering or the Physical Sciences is required along with three to five years of experience working with confocal and/or non-linear microscopic imaging is required. Familiarity with image analysis and platforms such as Matlab and/or Labview is preferred. If interested and for more information, please contact Irene Georgakoudi at [hidden email].
