Hello:
I made a few quick scans to compare image quality in two situations:
regular wide field and wide-field illumination coupled with confocal detection.
The latter looks like an odd way to do things, but I have some reflection applications
in mind where it might be useful. So, it seems to me that this hybrid imaging mode
doesn’t provide true sectioning (finite z-dimension of an image of a
plane) but still improves resolution. Does anyone know of any relevant theory
or experimental data? Many thanks in advance.
